Roles and Responsibilities
- Aaron Weinfield is a senior software manager of Wireless Technologies at DENSO’s North American Research and Development Laboratories.
- He leads the software architecture of DENSO's Wireless Safety Unit (WSU) radio stack and other core software features for vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2X) technologies.

Weinfield has been closely involved in numerous vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2X) technology-related activities such as:
- IEEE 1609 working group
- United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) V2X programs
- Vehicle Safety and Mobility programs
- Vehicle Infrastructure Integration Consortium Onboard Equipment radio stack development
- The development of DENSO’s first generation DSRC WAVE Radio Module (WRM)
History with DENSO
- Weinfield joined DENSO in 1998, as a software manager of DENSO International America Laboratories, previously located in Carlsbad, Calif, where he was responsible for mobile phone and cellular protocol software development.
- In 2003, his group began to shift toward wireless technology research and development with an extensive focus on V2X technology.
Prior to DENSO
- Before joining DENSO, he worked on software development and air traffic control systems at Science Applications International Corporation in San Diego, and software development for military communications systems at GET Engineering and Applied Technology Associates in San Diego.
- Weinfield earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from San Diego State University in San Diego, Calif.
- Weinfield is currently an active member of IEEE 1609 Working Group.
