BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — DENSO Manufacturing Michigan, Inc. was named a 2013 winner of the Catalyst Award, presented annually by Southwest Michigan First to recognize companies that contribute to the region's economic development and job creation efforts. Winners were honored at a ceremony held May 22, 2013 in Kalamazoo.
In January, DENSO International America, Inc., announced it would be investing approximately $105 million in new manufacturing capabilities at its Battle Creek, Mich., facility for advanced thermal management products. As part of that investment, DENSO plans to add 266 news positions, including 46 professional and skilled trade positions and 220 manufacturing positions to support expanded manufacturing activity. Construction has already begun on a plant expansion.
